Like the credits roll at the end of a movie, the last moments of your trip must be accompanied by a soundtrack---one allows you to pause and reflect on the travels you've just taken. Before the hectic pace and demands of post-vacay life unfold, the plane, train or car ride home is the perfect time to savor the final seconds of your trip, looking back on the sights seen and new experiences gathered under your belt.

Whether you've just been amping it up on a trip style = urban getaway and are not quite ready to go home, taken some much needed R & R and want to hold on to that tranquil feeling for just a little longer, or have been collecting frequent flyers points on a business trip and can't wait to get home, this month's playlist has a end credit song for every kind of trip style.

Last weekend some of TS gals packed their bags and headed to sunny Phoenix, Arizona for a girls weekend away---one of my a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e favorite trip styles! There’s nothing like leaving the men behind, over-packing your suitcase with shoes and too many outfits, and hitting the road for a week{end} of fun with the girls.

Before the recent baby-boom within my group of friends, we used to take a few girls' getaways a year. Depending on the season and our state of mind, our trips looked like this: summer // lounging lakeside at the cabin and shopping crusades to Los Angeles; fall // spa weekends somewhere off the beaten track; winter // cozy ski weekends in Whistler; spring // high-octane trips to Vegas. Even now, with the addition of babies, we still try and plan at least a couple of girls-only weekends a year!

No matter what trip style we choose for our gals' getaways, I have always been and remain in charge of providing the soundtrack. This month I’ve created the ultimate girls' getaway playlist---one with a mix of iconic hits from the past and current singles that will get you and your girlfriends excited for whatever adventure lies ahead.

I recently read that Portland is considered the “Mecca of indie rock"---a place where budding bands congregate and a home to well-established indie rockers. Whether it be the unique neighborhoods, the vintage feel, or the laid-back attitude, the city of roses has been luring musical talent like it’s going out of style. Artists like Gossip, The Dandy Warhols, The Shins, M. Ward and Elliott Smith were either formed in or relocated to Portland after they gained popularity. Good thing there's a lot of food trucks, because grabbing a quick bite is the only way to keep up with all the gigs at popular venues like the Doug Fir Lounge.

If you haven’t already guessed, this month's Jetset Jingles plays homage to the slew of indie rock acts with an attachment to PDX---consider it your plane, train or automobile starter soundtrack to some of Portland's best musical acts.

This holiday season I’ll be trading in my winter coat for a bathing suit and swapping out my ice scraper for a set of golf clubs. Goodbye wintery Vancouver, hello sunny Palm Springs.

In the 60s, Palms Springs was the weekend playground famously frequented by members of the Rat Pack. Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin could be spotted sipping cocktails at the latest “it” hotel pool or partying at Melvyn's Diner. Today it has become one of the hottest trip style = weekend getaway spots for a younger generation.

Whether this historic hotspot is drawing in hipsters for the Coachella Music Fest, throwing the most notorious White Party of the year or reeling in the golf pros for the Bob Hope Classic, Palm Springs has a little something for everyone.

To give you a taste of the classic cool Palm Springs vibe, this month's Jetset Jingles features tracks from the Rat Pack crooners {or songs made famous by them}.

Many things come to mind when I think of the Caribbean: white sandy beaches, tropical breezes, otherwise stylish men thinking they can get away with wearing white linen pants, and of course, the sometimes cheesy, somewhat dated songs that quickly become the soundtrack of your trip style = beach + sun. You know the ones I’m talking about: the songs that so perfectly complement the laid back and relaxed island time mentality embraced by every island from Jamaica to Nevis, the ones you already know the words to, and the ones that will help ease you into the no problem mon attitude one can’t help but adopt while unwinding beachside.
